pay [《口》 put down the money] 《for sb》.

●必要なだけ金を立て替える advance as much money as sb needs

・交通費を立て替えてもらう get sb to lend one the fare; borrow the fair 《from sb》

・立て替えてもらった金を返す pay back a loan; 《口》 square up 《with sb》 afterwards.

●友人に入場料を立て替えてもらった. A friend lent me the money to get in [paid the admission for me (on the understanding that I would pay him [her] back later)].

・郵送料はそちらで一時立て替えておいてください. Please pay the postage, which I will reimburse later.
